Yellow: Sarawak Gawai Day

 A Tourist map of Sarawak.
Current flag of Sarawak. It was a different one when I was living there.
With 2 beautiful Iban girls when I visited a longhouse in Bintangor.

The beautiful Awa with her mum.

It was first celebrated on 1 June 1965 and became a symbol of unity, aspiration and hope for the Dayak community. Today, it is an integral part of the Dayak social life. It is a thanksgiving day marking a bountiful harvest and a time to plan for the new farming season or other endeavors ahead.

The Chans have been in Sarawak since 1907, and some of us have married the Ibans, and other natives.
