These are unofficial photos of my niece Katie's wedding to Mathew.

During my wedding, Charles went with the Official photographer and took lots of unofficial photos. We got copies cheaply to send to our friends and relatives.

Brisbane and the courts.

I walked the CBD of Brisbane and crossed many bridges, I crossed over from the Courts where my brother went and walked the 

Kurilpa Bridge (originally known as the Tank Street 

Bridge) 

is a (A$)$63 million pedestrian and bicycle 
bridge over the 

Brisbane River in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.^[1][2] The 

bridge connects Kurilpa Point in South Brisbane to Tank 

Street in the Brisbane central business district. In 2011, the 

bridge was judged World Transport Building of the Year at the World Architecture Festival.^[3]

I walked the whole morning, crossed back to the city where the Casino was. I walked and walked and overshot, I realised I had gone too far, I went to a news agent. She was wonderful and gave me a map. Just before me, a group of young girls had asked the same thing. 

I asked 5 people including a good looking lawyer and a policeman. When I went to the court the police showed me, I went to the wrong court.  Joseph told me I need to take a photo for my escapade. I told him, I pretend to be a lawyer like him.

Father had ambition of becoming a lawyer. He always told us, if he had the money, and if he didn't get the scholarship to study Education in England, he would have been a lawyer. He shared with us news of court cases he read in the newspaper.

One day when I was teaching in Kuching, he came for work in Kuching. he took me to the court and watch a murder trial take place. I knew he really wanted to be a lawyer.

Law is in our blood, there are 5 lawyers in the Chan Clan.

Photography.

I caught my own reflection inside the elevator of the Penthouse Apartments on Surfers Paradise in Australia.

Father bought a camera when he was in England. In the early 1960s, he let Rose use it to take our photos. The guava bush was a backdrop of our photos.

Rose joined her school photography club. Later Elizabeth and I joined the club too.

Chillis

Habanero chillis I grew in Singapore, originally from Mexico. Now Joseph grows them in Australia.


This is another unusual chilli. I don't know the name. Do you? This is grown at the winter garden at the Auckland domain.

Chillis crept into our diet. When our ancestors came from China in 1907, they didn't eat chilli. I remember when Grandpa didn't eat much. Now, we the 4th Generation Chans must have chilli with their meal.

In Singapore, I was given this habanero chilli, I ate the chilli and germinated the seeds. I got hundreds of chillis from my two plants. My friends were "burnt" by this very hot chilli from Mexico. Even my Indian friend's husband who could eat very hot food had to surrender to this little thing. All of us had great laughter when we tried the chilli.

The plant is gone but I have the photos. The original chilli came from Mexico, courtesy from my friend W. on his tours.

I also learnt that to beat this fireball, sip slowly milk, giving yourself a milky mustache, or take some yoghurt. This is from my research. It works like magic.

Katie's wedding

Katie's wedding was held at Sanctuary Cove, on the Gold Coast. There were a lot of glass, and my brother Joseph joked they were diamonds.

After the wedding service, the bridal party went down to the garden for their photo shoot. We were upstairs having drinks and snacks. I took these photos through the glass windows. I also wanted to record them enjoying the picnic Elizabeth and I made for them, and the drinks Henry, Kalang and Kee Yong bought.

If you can't see the picnic basket, it is glass window's fault.

Traditional wedding tea ceremony 2

Here my niece Emily and sister in law Elley and I showing our hands as we prepare the cups for the sweet auspicious for our other niece Katie to serve her elders on her wedding day.

My niece Flora made the tea. The tea has red dates, and other items.

The ceremony was wowed by the dinner guested. Even the Australian relatives took part with gusto.
